Paradise British Car Club ~ Events Calendar
         
          The Paradise British Car Club schedules the events for the coming year at the general meeting in January, trying to have at least one event that the members would enjoy each month of the year.  Some of the events are local drives or wine tours, while others are events scheduled by other clubs that at least some of the members usually attend.  Since the Club is comprised of a wide variety of British car marques, we try to list major events for several of the marques in this calendar.

          Events that are specific to our club are highlighted in yellow.

          February 18, 2012
          Paradise British Car Club – Wilding Museum Event

          The Wilding Museum will be displaying a set of images from the Landsat and other
          imaging satellites entitled “Earth as Art 3”. This is the third set of images assembled
          by NASA for display to the public.  The “Earth as Art Three” exhibit provides fresh
          and inspiring glimpses of different parts of our planet's complex surface. These
          scenes have been selected for their aesthetic beauty, rather than for scientific value.
          The images in this collection come from three sensors aboard satellites orbiting the
          Earth: Landsat 7, ASTER, and MODIS.

          One of our members, Larry Long, was Program Manager for the Landsat 7 Thematic Mapper instrument that makes the images, as well as assistant PM for Landsats 4 and 5.
          He will give a 15 minute briefing on how the TM instrument works at his home at 1411
          Foxenwood Drive in Orcutt, starting promptly at 10:00 A.M. on Feb 18. Coffee and
          donuts will be served. Following that, we will travel to Los Olivos to view the images on
          display, and then enjoy lunch and/or wine tasting at one of the local restaurants.
          Please advise Larry of your intention to attend so he and Barbara can make the proper
          arrangements.
